The Phokteydara–Gorkhey Trek is a breathtaking 6-day Himalayan journey through Sikkim’s Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary and the Singalila National Park. Starting from Uttarey Valley, this trek takes you across serene forests, high ridges, and alpine meadows to the iconic Phokteydara Viewpoint. Witness the Sleeping Buddha formation (Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Jannu) and panoramic views of four of the world’s five tallest peaks — Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga — during sunrise. Crossing the Singalila Pass, the highest point of the trek, you’ll continue to Phalut and descend to the charming village of Gorkhey. A trek that blends nature, culture, and unmatched Himalayan vistas.

Arrival at Uttarey Valley.(2000 mts)
Uttarey Valley to Achalley (7kms) (2950 mts). With good weather, the campsite offers the view of Sleeping Buddha.
Achalley to Kalijhar via thulodhap (7.5kms) (3400 mts).
Start early for Phokteydara (3575mts), Which offers the panoramic view of Sleeping Buddha(Mt.Jaanu, Mt.kanchenjunga, Mt Pandim) alongside 4 of the top 5 mountains of the world i.e Mt.Everest, Mt. lhotse, Mt.Makalu and Mt.Kanchenjunga with the mesmerizing Sunrise to accompany with it. After Phokteydara,come back to Kalijhar and head towards Phalut via Singalila pass(3800 mts). Singalila pass is the highest on the whole Barsey rododendron sanctuary (Sikkim) and Singalila National Park (West Bengal).
With good weather, trek to Phalut top (3600 mts) and enjoy the view. Come back to Phalut and start for Gorkhey.
Gorkhey to Bhareng from where your vehicle will take you to your desired destination.
